General prohibition to bet on football competitions in France
The French Football League (LFP) has released the result of a cooperation between ANJ and FDJ concerning betting. Indeed, some of the players and educators didn’t respect the “Code du Sport” (sport code) setup for the sports betting and their interdiction.
The French league and a player’s union lead campaigns in order to sensitise and inform the clubs about this topic regularly. Related to this commission, some players and coaches have been suspended for several games and fines.
As stated, all competition players need to stay away from any business involving betting on the basis of sports competitions which are closely or remotely connected.
